On the trail again - Tuolumne to Kennedy Meadows North
/
About this time, 6 years ago, we sat at a picnic table near the Tuolumne Meadows post office waiting for a shuttle bus back to Mammoh Lakes. We had just finished hiking about 75 miles, or so, of the John Muir trail.
There were others sitting with us..."Through Hikers"...PCT'ers. We had been passing them for over a week. One always did, hiking in the Sierras this time of year.
We talked with "Nitro", who got his name from the coffe he brewed to fuel his journey. We sat next to "Ratso" who set aside an advertising job in LA to rethink her life. "Panama" was hiking with his dog "Mouse", a service dog trained to detect Epileptic seizures.
These were some of the people who inspired us. It was at this picnic table that we made our decision to hike the PCT.
Here we sit again...at the same table. This time with our people. This time with our own stories. This time as Shiny & Half-Double.
